Practicing Sallys hair.

IEquiment.

  • Fishtail comb.
  • Paddle brush.
  • Hair tongs.
  • Hair sectioning clips.
  • Heat protector.
  • Hair spray.
Firstly you need to brush the hair to ensure the hair is knot free.
Now you need to create a parting looking at 20s/30s hair the parting was very prominently to the side.
You then need to section the hair from the crown to the ear. This will be your front section. Then section the rest of the hair.
Spray the hair with heat protector. Then you will need to curl the font sections in a backwards direction. Once you have curled the hair ensure you pin curl the hair to secure the curl.
Curl the rest of the hair in a backwards then forwards direction.

To bob the hair you are going to take out the pin curls from the side and back of the head.
You are now going to back comb the hair from the root. Twist the bottom of the hair and tuck it into the nape of the neck. Ensuring you place the hair grips in tightly to secure the bob.
Once you have done this around the back and sides you're going to want to check that it is even.
If not  work on getting the hair even or seen looking as though it is by using the comb to move and cover different lengths of hair.
Now take out the front curls and brush them. You are now going to pin the curls into bob making sure the waves direction is backwards.
Once you are happy with the hair pin and spray it into place.
Front view.
I then wanted to see what the hair would look like messier. I vision my charecter to have messier hair. I prefer the shut messier for my charecter.

Fingerwaves.

Here I tried out fingerwaves as I feel they look sophisticated like how Sally is described in my chosen scene. I created a subtle ones using hair gel a comb and a hair dryer. Using the sectioning clips and comb to create the shape. The gel for the hold and chic texture, and the hair dryer to hold the shape.

I felt as though this look did not portray my character. I want Sally to look attractive, but over the top and slightly messy. This look is too tamed for my charecter.
