In today's presentation I presented my idea of my chosen character the emcee to the class. I told them of how watching party monster I made links between the emcees role and Peter Gatien (the club owners) role. How they both play a significant but small part in both films. As without them the stories would not develop as in both films it happens in the club. There club adds excitement to the films too. From this I decided to explore their character traits. Powerful, seedy,selling drugs and women in their clubs. This made me think of a gangster or pimp. So I explored the original and modern day gangsters in many forms. I.e cholas. I then looked at grillz as it communicates wealth and a lot of people who I associate with gangsters are seen wearing them. I also researched ito eye patches as I felt it communicates a message again of power, shows strength and looks intimidating. I also looked at women as well as men as women are as powerful in the criminal world today, showing change of the eras.
The lass and Sharon liked this idea but felt I needed to make it more makeup focused and explain what scene I was choosing.
