Christopher and his kind.

I found Christopher and his kind to be most intriguing. The film was almost documenting Christopher's time in Berlin. How he came to Berlin for the boys. As Berlin allowed him to express his sexuality. In england in the 1920's you were seen as a minority to explore sexuality. You were viewed as being "one of them". This adaptation of the novel allows us to explore in more depth sexuality.

We are introduced to the character Imogen who from my research I can see inspirations from Sally Bowles. The green nails, shes a cabaret performer, British like in `Goodbye to Berlin`, she's a party girl. I love their adaptation of the character, she is classy and attractive. Which is more so of how I would imagine her. This version is more modern the clothing, makeup this is to appeal to a modern audience as it was created in 2011.

Imogen sometimes wears rather grungy makeup heavy dark eyes which imply to some being promiscuous in modern terms but perhaps less in the set era. I love how the green nails is still adorned on the similar character.

Analysing this image you can tell she is of a bourgeoisie background, the pearls, silk shirt. You can see the clothing is inspired by the 20-30's the dapper beads, curled hair ina bob. The look has a modern twist to it and I think it works very well. I will use this look to help give me inspiration towards my modern Sally.
