Post 11

"rather pretty,rather sophisticated,rather child-like, exasperating and irresistible"(Act one, scene four, page 16)

From this I can imagine the makeup being very over the top form the word exasperating. A lot of eye makeup, heavy lips, and skin. Maybe different textures such as glitter as that is very much in your face. Heavy makeup can also decode as showing her childish side. You could show it through adornments such as pearl necklaces as these were seen as perhaps sophisticated. Could make her makeup playful like a child by using colours other than black to create a smokey eye, big outwards flicks. Plum lips showing her sophisticated side, with sophisticated hair.

Make-up & hair for the scene.

If I could design the makeup for this scene I would make it rather heavy and glamorous so she would not be forgotten like an unforgettable smokey eye making her look 'doe eyed' and berry lips against pale skin. Creating a beautiful contrast. Something that would make her features stand out. Thin high brows and pinched lips. Pale as it is winter, Sally also has not eaten in a few days. Her face is thin due to a suppressed appetite from feeding off drugs. Deep plum lips not only was it on trend but looks almost vampy and mysterious and is hard to read unlike red.

The hair I would have it in a voluminous curled bob, with a gold head ban on with a feather coming from it that way it would portray her energetic character, the feather is childlike but the big curled hair is sensual, and attractive. Someone has given her a goodluck kiss therefore her hair is slightly ruffled. Sally is in a rush to get ready therefore her hair and makeup is not perfect. Sally does not have time for final touchups.
