Figuring out their background.

From this scene I can depict out some of the characters background. As this is the scene where the iconic Cliff and Sally meet. 

Sally.

Sally is a young British performer, confident. We learn she likes putting on a persona "i used to love pretending I was someone else".(Act one,scene4, page 19) We learn she has a love interest Max. Also that she is promiscuous and confident. She's a resereved person when it comes to her personal life "If I want to tell you anything I will"(Act one, Scene four) This indicate that she is treating him as a client. That she play a character on stage only tells people snippets of her life, perhaps for protection? Or maybe she lies about her background? But ironically she is also open about where she lives, her sexual relationships which is odd. 

Cliff.

Cliff is from America (Harrisburg, Pennsylvanian). He is an educated author. Whom is staying in Berlin to write an focus on his novel. We learn he's possibly lived a rather sheltered life as he seems rather surprised when Sally mentions who she is currently sleeping with you. He seems uptight and unsure of his surroundings.
