Face charts.

I have decided to begin to design a few face charts to see what direction my concepts are heading towards. I now know what scene I am creating Sally from. I have chosen Act One-Scene Four in the script. Where Cliff and Sally first meet. It is New years eve in the club. I have based my makeup on the event, time of day, era, the fact that she is performing and her character traits of how I would like her to be perceived.

 Product list.

  • Primer-Illamasqua Satin primer.
  • Foundation Dior forever shade 002.
  • Concealer MAC Studio fix NC15.
  • Powder-Illamasqua translucent powder.
  • Kroylan blush-flamingo.
  • MUA Smokin pallete Dark green.
  • kroylan Charcoal.
  • Matte brown brows.
  • Mua Boom lash.
  • MAC Chilli lips.
I chose this particular makeup. As Sally was known for wearing green to get across the message that she was rebellious and it attracted attention to her as people question the colour selection. Smokey eyes is often portrayed as a sensual look. I want thin straight brows as not only was this on trend but was very Theda Bara it was a dramatic eye catching brow. That I feel will add to Sallys strong personality.  A Strong brow says a lot about someone. I want the blusher to not only add a bit of colour to the cheeks but when the lights on stage shine down on her this will add dramatic shadows to the face because of where I am placing the blusher. I chose deep red lips as not only does this scream siren, it conntotates desire, and being ripe. "This is her time to shine". I have made sure the lips are in a pointed shape so they look like a pout, the perfect kissing shape. Not only are the lips dramatic but they were also very much on trend.

Although this look may be similar to my first face chart I sort of have this vision in my head of how I want my character to look which is why they are similar. I have again gone for a pale matte complexion and a green smokey eye. But this time I have added a glitter pigment. Not only does this make the colour more intense but it also adds texture. It New years eve and celebrate an event us girls usually like to look a little different we way go over the top. I wanted to add glitter on the eyes as not only is this dramatic stage makeup but is glamorous and the concept behind it is the audience is like a mirror as I perceive Sally as being selfish, when you look in the mirror and see your reflection you see yourself. I feel that's how Sally sees herself especially in the film she does a lot to please herself she is also a rather lonely character as she's a "right now" woman not one you would want to settle down with. perhaps conveying the message " all that glitters isn't gold". Speaking of money also Money may shine but it is not everything in life I feel Sally charecter begins to explore this. Especially when her wealthy lover leaves her for another. Leaves her money to make up for it. I hose green for the eyes as green is the colour of money, envy, and poison. I chose rounded brows as I feel these look a lot softer and suit the look I am going for. I chose to place a beauty spot under the eyes as I feel it makes the face look more feminine and draws attention to the eyes. I have used plum lips as not only was plum on trend it also can symbolize extravagance and mystery.

Here I wanted to transfer my last face chart onto my face as it is the more basic look of the chart. I felt as though the colours work well together but will dramatize it more for my creation of Sally. From this simple makeup look I can develop my ideas further now I have a better vision of how the colours will look.
